We ask that parents and students review the following information regarding our Live Online ACT courses before classes start.
- One-Time Class Material Pick-Up: All course materials are provided in advance. Please pick up the full course packet at our Fairfax location on Saturdays between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. If you are unable to attend during this time, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
- Live Online Classes (Zoom): Classes are conducted via Zoom. Meeting links and passwords will be sent via email on the morning of each session. Students should create a Zoom account in advance.
- At-Home Diagnostic & Simulation Tests: All full-length tests will be completed at home in a self-proctored format. Test materials are included in the course packet, and answer keys will be provided via email on the evening of each test day.

TJHSST Admission Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) must meet the following criteria.-
Course Requirements:
- Enrolled in both honors-level math and science courses
- Enrolled in one additional honors course or identified as a Young Scholar*
(*Information regarding potential waivers will be provided by the school.)
Math Requirement:
- Students must be enrolled in a full-year Honors Algebra I (for high school credit) or a higher-level math course in 8th grade
- Algebra I Part A does not satisfy this requirement
- The current math course must be verified by the school on the application Grade Point Average (GPA):
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 at the end of 7th grade is required for eligibility

One-on-One Tutoring: SSAT Prep
This course covers the Math, Verbal, Reading, and Essay portions SSAT. Time will be focused on learning skills to develop the student's vocabulary, essay composition skills, math test taking skills, and reading test taking skills. Students will be taught how to best prepare themselves for the test and given strategies for test taking.
At Prime Learning Center (PLC), we offer a wide variety of tutoring materials so that students may become as familiar and comfortable as possible with the exam's content and format. Our simulation tests help students learn how to effectively manage their time on the real test.
The SSAT is administered on the two levels:

It consists of two parts: a brief unscored writing sample and a multiple choice section that tests Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, and Verbal skills.Our tutors will give your student individualized attention and work with your student in conquering any weaknesses he or she may have in these topics, at any academic level.
Although the essay does not directly impact the SSAT score, it is still reviewed by schools and is an important aspect of the admission process. Our tutors will give frequent, personalized advice to help students polish their writing and composition skills.

One-on-One Tutoring: TOEFL Prep
Work with an experienced tutor to improve your fundamental understanding of the English language and to effectively prepare for the Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing portions of the exam.
Our tutors use university-level materials to prepare students for reading and writing in an academic setting, allowing them to understand and respond to a variety of topics and situations that may appear on the TOEFL.
Verbal communication is often the most difficult aspect of learning a new language. Students will work with our tutors to improve their speaking and listening skills naturally and organically.

One-on-One Tutoring: IOWA Algebra Aptitude Test (IAAT)
The IAAT (Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test) is a timed test. The actual testing time is 40 minutes. Additional time is required for completing the identifying information on the answer sheet, hearing directions, etc. So actual time in the testing room is approximately 70 minutes.
Description of the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test: The IAAT is a timed test consisting of 60 items divided evenly into four subtests. The time limit for each subtest is 10 minutes. The four subtests are:
